Reflections….Count Your Blessings, Not Your Misgivings

This time of the year is often one of remembrance and reflection on where it started to where it has ended.  Often, this is a somber time as we consider with regret the year behind us for an achievement not made, a moment not seized or a loss we’ve experienced.  It can be lonely and depressing for many, but it can also be motivating to exact change for the coming year ahead.

What if we changed our mind set and consider all that was accomplished, achieved and gained.  Instead of regret, take a moment of gratitude.  Be thankful for every blessing in your life, every opportunity given and experience gained.  Look to the New Year with a positive mindset with hope that the coming year will be just as fruitful.  It can be difficult to see the silver lining, but if it is made part of your daily practice it can become effortless, even in the most difficult of times.

So, take a moment to count your blessings and leave your misgivings behind.  Eat well, exercise, sleep and be kind to yourself and others.  Surround yourself with positive people and tell them how much they mean to you.  Do something everyday that makes you laugh.  Give your body a break from all the rich foods and alcohol. Perhaps do a detox from sugar and processed foods.  Eat your veggies, drink your bone broth or kombucha and start off this New Year with a positive mind, body and spirit!

Now tell me, what are you grateful for and how will you make it a happy 2018?
